TUCJCC support:
The TUC has requested that LabourNet correct its original report that the full TUCJCC meeting supported the march. Here is the correction. We apologise for the misunderstanding.

The Trade Union Council representatives from the Trade Union Councils' Joint Consultative Committee with the TUC agreed overwhelmingly to support the Euro Marches at their own meeting on Monday, 11th November. However, a vote on the question at the full TUCJCC could not take place as the TUC ruled it out of order and would not allow it on the agenda.

The TUC has now called on Trade Union Councils, Regional TUCs and TUC Centres for the Unemployed not to support the Euromarches. This would seem to be because these organisations are expected to carry out TUC policy (support for the EMU convergence criteria!!) even though they have no direct input in determining it. Many Trade Union Councils and Centres for the Unemployed are rejecting the diktat of the TUC and are continuing to support the Euromarches.
